Weed and Heroin Found on Cape Man at Plaza, Police Say

The following information was supplied by the Braintree Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 23-year-old man from South Dennis was busted for allegedly having marijuana and heroin ready for sale in the parking lot of the South Shore Plaza.

Jordan O’Brien was arrested last Thursday evening after officers patrolling the Plaza watched him and a companion, then approached their vehicle and smelled burnt marijuana, Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.

"A search of a backpack in the trunk uncovered two glass jars containing a quantity of marijuana, along with a prescription vial containing numerous small plastic bags of heroin," Jenkins said. "A digital scale and paraphernalia was also found."

Police seized $2,500 in cash in O'Brien's pocket as suspected drug sale profits.

He was charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. His companion, a woman, was not charged with a crime.
