Warrant Issued for Lawnview Drive Break-in

The following info was supplied by the Braintree Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Following three break-ins on Lawnview Drive over the past month, police have issued a warrant for a 22-year-old Braintree man, wanted for at least one of the crimes.

Police are seeking to charge Matthew P. McCormick with breaking and entering and larceny from a building for a break-in at a Lawnview Drive home on Aug. 23, Deputy Chief Russell Jenkins said.

During that break-in, money and jewelry were taken. That same home was broken into again on Aug. 25.

"McCormick sometimes stays at a home near the victim homes, but his present whereabouts is unknown," Jenkins said. "Anyone with information as to where McCormick may be staying is encouraged to contact Detective Charles Paris as 781-794-8685."

Last Friday, Sept. 14, another Lawnview Drive home was broken into. A couple told police that their children returned home from school at 5:30 p.m. and found an Apple computer and other items missing.

"The children fled the house and went to a neighbor’s home where they called the police," Jenkins said. "Upon the return of the parents, they confirmed that additional items had been taken, including gold necklaces, and that entry was most likely gained through an unlocked door."
