Two Arrested for Large Clothing Theft at Plaza

The following information was supplied by the Braintree Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A man and woman were arrested earlier this week at the South Shore Plaza after allegedly stealing more than $2,000 worth of clothing from Lord & Taylor.

Denise V. Williams, 55 of Hyannis, and Vance Johnson, Sr., 57 of Dorchester, were charged with larceny over $250 and receiving stolen property over $250 after the incident on Monday, Sept. 23, Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.

Loss prevention at the Plaza saw the men on surveillance cameras concealing merchandise, Jenkins said.

Williams was found in possession of 13 clothing items hidden under her clothing and stuffed in a bag. Johnson had numerous empty clothing hangers concealed under his jacket.

Five more bags of clothing were found in the trunk of their vehicle, Jenkins said, also allegedly stolen from Lord & Taylor.
