Braintree police, with the help of the State Police Bomb Squad, investigated a box left at the corner of West and Granite streets Monday morning.
Police Chief Russell Jenkins said the department called in the bomb squad because of the nature of the box and its location. Officers saw a dark green Military style fiberglass box near Citizens Bank after receiving a call just before 8 a.m.
Units cleared the scene shortly after 9 a.m.
