Braintree Cops on Hotel Patrol Find Marijuana, $11,000 on Two Men

The following information was supplied by the Braintree Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Braintree police arrested two men Monday evening after they allegedly were involved in a drug transaction at the Hampton Inn on Wood Road.

During a check of the hotels on the road, detectives Mark Sherrick and Matthew Heslam saw what looked like a drug deal between two men later identified as Pierre Charles, 25 of Randolph and Exsaviel Pimental, 26 of Dorchester, Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.

Charles was approached in the parking lot and Pimental was stopped after he left "at a high rate of speed," Jenkins said. Police found $11,000 in cash and marijuana on Charles and a smaller quantity of marijuana on Pimental, though more weed was found near where Pimental left the hotel.

Both men were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substances Act and Charles was also charged with distribution of marijuana.
