Braintree police arrested two men Monday evening after they allegedly were involved in a drug transaction at the Hampton Inn on Wood Road.

During a check of the hotels on the road, detectives Mark Sherrick and Matthew Heslam saw what looked like a drug deal between two men later identified as Pierre Charles, 25 of Randolph and Exsaviel Pimental, 26 of Dorchester, Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.

Charles was approached in the parking lot and Pimental was stopped after he left "at a high rate of speed," Jenkins said. Police found $11,000 in cash and marijuana on Charles and a smaller quantity of marijuana on Pimental, though more weed was found near where Pimental left the hotel.
