Shady Exchange Outside Burlington Coat Factory Leads to Drug Arrests

Police arrested a man and woman outside of Burlington Coat Factory last week after an exchange in the parking lot led to the seizure of prescription drugs.

Jason T. Munroe, 23 of Holbrook, and Morgan T. Vayda, 27 of Stoughton, were charged with several crimes after they allegedly engaged in a drug transaction around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.

"Detective [Matthew] Heslam stopped Munroe and confronted him with his suspicions" following the transaction, Jenkins said. "A search of his vehicle uncovered several Suboxone pills Detective [Mark] Sherrick stopped Vayda and confronted her with his suspicions and searched her vehicle."

The search of Vayda's vehicle turned up $160 in cash and two prescription bottles containing Suboxone.

Both Vayda and Munroe were charged with conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substances Act and Munroe was additionally charged with possession of Suboxone and Vayda was charged with distribution of Suboxone.
