Roxbury Man Allegedly Delivers Heroin to Braintree Home

The following information was supplied by the Braintree Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 25-year-old Roxbury man was arrested in Braintree last week after he allegedly sold heroin to a man at his Cocheto Street home.

The Braintree resident was also arrested on various charges when police, watching his house after reports of almost daily drug deliveries, saw the Roxbury man allegedly deliver drugs on Wednesday, Nov. 21, Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.

Police pulled over Angel A. Lara, 25, of Roxbury in his minivan after he left the home. He was taken into custody after initially refusing to leave his vehicle, Jenkins said.

Back at the home, another resident who was not named because he had yet to be charged told police information that led them to arrest Lara on charges of distribution of heroin, conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substances Act and resisting arrest, Jenkins said.

In addition, Brain F. Downey, 30, who resides at the Cocheto Street home, was arrested on three outstanding warrants for drug, larceny and motor vehicle offences.
