Repeated Fraud at Best Buy Leads to Braintree Arrest

The following information was supplied by the Braintree Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 38-year-old New York man was arrested last week after staff at Best Buy in Braintree alerted police to a scheme where he allegedly used false ID to order computers online and pick them up at the store.

Stanley Duperval, of Rosedale, NY, was charged with numerous offenses, including larceny over $250, forgery, passing a forged document and receiving stolen property over $250 after police learned he had alleged done the same thing two days earlier at the Braintree Best Buy and at the company's store in Framingham.

He was arrested on Thursday, Nov. 14 after trying to pick up two Apple computers and an employee remembered him from two days before, Jenkins said. Duperval allegedly picked up $5,000 worth of Apple merchandise from the Framingham Best Buy and had others scheduled.
