Police Looking for Suspect in Braintree Home Overnight Break-In

The following information was supplied by the Braintree Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Union Street home was broken into sometime last Saturday night, though nothing appeared taken, police said.

The owner said that he discovered on Sunday morning, Aug. 19, a ground level window screen forcibly broken, Deputy Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.

But the suspect did not gain entry because the window was locked. Nothing appeared to be taken from the home, Jenkins said.

"The homeowner went on to report that sometime during a week long vacation from August 8th to the 15th, someone punched a hole in his basement door at the rear of the house and was then able to unlock the deadbolt by reaching inside the hole," Jenkins said.
