Three people were arrested by Braintree police Monday afternoon when a tip led detectives to follow a green Ford Explorer, whose occupants were found with bags of prescription drugs.
George A. Sass, 58, of Taunton and his daughter, Angela N. Sass, 27, of Dedham, along with David W. Atwater, 43, of Avon, were all charged with trafficking in Oxycodone and conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substances Act, Deputy Chief Russell Jenkins said in a press release.
Detectives saw a Chevrolet Tahoe parked on Logan Drive, Jenkins said, which raised suspicions when both George and Angela Sass sat inside the unmoving car for a while.
"A short time later, a green Ford Explorer drove past the Tahoe and the Tahoe fell in behind the Explorer and drove to a nearby street," Jenkins said. "Both vehicles parked and George Sass exited the passenger side of the Tahoe and approached the Explorer. The detectives approached the vehicles and confronted the occupants
with their suspicions that they were involved in a drug transaction."
Ultimately George Sass was found with eighty 30mg Oxycodone pills, and Angela with 84 in separate containers and five Klonopin pills. Jenkins said all three suspects gave conflicting stories to the detectives. Angela Sass was also charged with possession of Oxycodone and possession of Klonopin.
