The following information was supplied by the Braintree Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Braintree police arrested a 29-year-old Brockton man on July 4 for allegedly possessing prescription pain killers with the intent to distribute them.

Benson Charles was also charged with failure to stop for a police officer after Officer Donald Delaney tried to pull him over on Washington Street for an expired registration and he initially did not stop, Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.

"Charles eventually came to a stop and was approached by Officer Delaney, who was now joined by Sergeant Phillip Yee and Detective Charles Paris," Jenkins said. "A search of Charles uncovered a number of Percocet pills in his pants pocket."
