Hearing For Woman Charged With Sleeping Behind Wheel Drunk in Braintree

Jury trial to be held in case of assault, criminal harassment

Stephen F. Zawaski, 70, of 28 Brookside Road, Braintree, had charges of assault and criminal harassment continued to Nov. 26 for a jury trial in Quincy District Court.

The charges stem from a April 17 incident on Canton Street in Braintree at 7:04 p.m. The victim alleges Zawaski hurled insults at her while on her way to the MBTA station on Burgin Parkway and allegedly threatened, "I can get to you any time I want," before driving away, police said in the incident report.

Drugged-driving case continued for hearing Nov. 29

Jillian M. Reis, 28, of 179 Turner Road, Rockland, had charges of operating under the influence of drugs, unlicensed driving and falsely notifying the Registry of Motor Vehicles about a name or address change continued to Nov. 29 for a hearing in Quincy District Court.

The charges stem from a March 19, 2011 incident at 12:02 p.m. at the intersection of Cotton Avenue and Quincy Avenue in Braintree where police responded to a report of a woman passed out at the wheel of a vehicle.

Police allegedly found Reis slumped over inside the vehicle with the gear in drive and her foot on the brake. Reis allegedly told police she was on her way home and was going to take a nap, and admitted to taking two Xanax pills. Reis allegedly told police she was also taking prescription Oxycodone, Cymbalta, and Amphetamine Salts, according to the incident report.
