Newton woman arraigned on shoplifting charge
Maria L. Castro, 39, of 229 Adams St., Apt. 1, Newton was assessed $100 in court costs following arraignment in Quincy District Court on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise. The judge also instructed Castro to stay away from the store.
The charge stemmed from a Aug. 15 incident in Braintree at 7:30 p.m. when police were dispatched to Lord & Taylor at the South Shore Plaza in response to a report of two people running away after shoplifting from the store.
