Court dismisses shoplifting charge

William A. Martinez-Cruz, 23,of 229 Adams St., Newton, had a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise dismissed upon payment of $100 in court costs. The charge stemmed from a Aug. 15 incident at Lord & Taylor at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree at 7:30 p.m. when police responded to a report of two shoplifters.

Ajit Grewal, 57, of 38 Green St., Malden had a charge of larceny over $250 continued to Dec. 18 for a jury trial in Quincy District Court. The charge stems from a March 9, 2011 incident in Braintree involving a dispute over a $1,000 winning instant lottery ticket. 

Boston man pleads guilty to larceny

Kenneth James, 44, of 3 Smith St., Apt. 3, Boston, issued a plea of guilty in Quincy District Court to larceny over $250. The case was placed on file until May 1, 2013. The charge stemmed from a Sept. 22, 2010 incident at the Sunglass Hut at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree at 8 p.m. when police responded to a report of four pairs of stolen sunglasses, each valued at $220.
