Brockton man charged with distributing marijuana
Charles R. Pratti, 23, of 473 North Warren Ave., Apt. 11, Brockton, was arraigned in Quincy District Court on a charge of distributing a Class D drug. The case was continued to July 19. Pratti was released on his own recognizance. The charge stems from a March 12 incident in Braintree where police on patrol allegedly observed a drug sale take place in a car parked at the South Shore Plaza. Police recovered marijuana worth about $60.
Weymouth man charged with credit card fraud
Darren A. Swift, 40, of 49 Roseen Ave., Weymouth, was arraigned in Quincy Distfict Court on charges of making a false statement to obtain a credit card, attempting to commit a crime, and three counts of larceny over $250. The case was continued to July 12. Swift was released on his own recognizance.
The charges stem from Feb. 18 and Feb. 23 incidents in Braintree as a result of an ongoing police investigation of credit card fraud. The alleged scam involved finding personal information about Discover Card customers, then reporting the cards lost in order to obtain replacement credit cards.
Case continued for alleged third-offense shoplifter
Marc A. Zungola, 41, homeless, had a charge of third-offense shoplifting by asportation continued to June 29 for a hearing in Quincy District Court. The charge stems from a Sept. 27, 2011 incident in Braintree at 9:20 p.m. when police responded to a report of a shoplifter at Kmart on Grossman Avenue. Police allege Zungola had a duffel bag containing $230 worth of Kmart clothing merchandise including two knives and a power drill under his jacket.
