Falmouth Man Faces Burglary Charges After Alleged Braintree Kmart Heist

Brian Baker, 51 of East Falmouth, was arraigned in Quincy District Court on charges of felony nighttime breaking and entering, larceny over $250, and malicious destruction of property over $250. The case was continued to Jan. 10. Baker was released on personal recognizance.
The charges stem from a Oct. 7 incident in Braintree at 10:59 p.m. when police responded to a report of breaking and entering at Kmart on Grossman Drive.
Police said an employee saw a person in front of the store who then fled in a red minivan. Police said they found that the bottom section of the store front door had been shattered. Store surveillance cameras captured the suspect with a pry tool. The suspect then went directly over to the jewelry counter, vaulted over it, and began breaking into jewelry cases stuffing gold jewelry into the suspect's jacket.

Braintree woman charged with assault and battery
Shamika James, 35 of Braintree had a charge of assault and battery continued to March 6 for a jury trial in Quincy District Court. The charge stems from a March 24 incident in Randolph at 9:16 a.m. when police were dispatched to 1374 North Main St. for a report of a domestic assault and battery.
