Everett man charged with shoplifting at the Gap

Jayson C. Hebert, 37 of Everett, was arraigned in Quincy District Court on a charge of larceny over $250. The case was continued to March 25.

The charge stems from a April 29, 2011 incident in Braintree after police were dispatched to the Gap for a report of a man who allegedly entered the store and began selecting an estimated 60 pairs of boxer shorts and then stuffing them into his pants. Police said the man had difficulty walking out of the store due to the large quantity of merchandise stuffed in his pants. Police said the estimated value of the boxer shorts was $400, according to the police report.

Braintree man gets suspended sentences for assault, indecent exposure

Thomas B. O'Connor, 40 of Braintree, was found guilty in Quincy District Court on charges of breaking and entering for a misdemeanor and assault and battery and was sentenced to 18 months in the Norfolk County House of Correction. The sentence was suspended until Dec. 2, 2014. O'Connor was instructed to stay drug and alcohol free and be tested, and attend two Alcohol Anonymous sessions each week.

The charges stemmed from a Nov. 6, 2011 incident in Braintree after police responded to a report of a man being assaulted during an argument. O'Connor was found guilty in a separate case of open and gross lewdness and was sentenced to 18 months in the House of Correction, suspended until Dec. 2, 2014. The charge stemmed from a Nov. 5, 2011 incident in Braintree after police responded to a report of a man exposing himself to a woman after a house gathering.
