Man Robs Lottery Money at Knifepoint at Braintree Variety Store

The following information was supplied by the Braintree Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A man robbed the Braintree Variety Store at knifepoint on Hayward Street on Sunday afternoon, then fled toward Front Street.

The victim told police that a white male, 5 feet 9 inches with dark hair and a black sweatshirt walked around the counter holding a knife and grabbed the store's lottery money, Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.

No one was injured during the robbery. The suspect fled in a black SUV, possible a Cadillac Escalade, up Hobart Street, Jenkins said.
