Man Crashed Van, Punches K9, Will Face a Multitude of Charges

A Plymouth man is facing A&B charges after a police chase in Braintree.

A Plymouth man is facing charges after he crashed his van, took off from police, and punched a K9 in the face, reported NECN.

The 51-year-old man crashed his van into a pole on Union Street in Braintree, and proceeded to take off on foot toward a motel. Braintree police found him in a wooded area, and when the man failed to comply, the K9 was set loose on him. After the man, whose name is not being released until official charges are filed, punched the dog in the face, police restrained him, said NECN.

The man also spit on police and personnel from the ambulance that had been called to the scene. He will face A&B charges, operating under the influence of alcohol, interfering with a police dog, leaving the scene with property damage, resisting arrest and a marked lanes violation, said NECN.
