A 28-year-old Hanover man was arrested on Thursday night after police found drugs on him when they searched him following an alleged break-in of a vehicle at the Moose Club on Howard Street.
Andrew G. Billings was charged with attempt to commit a crime, possession of heroin and resisting arrest after a brief struggle with police, Deputy Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.
Members of the Moose Club told police that Billings tried to break into a member's car in the rear parking lot. He and an unidentified female fled before police arrived, Jenkins said, but officers found Billings on Quincy Avenue.
After taking him into custody, police found on Billings a small bag of what was later determined to be heroin.
