Found Allegedly Asleep Behind Wheel, Weymouth Man Gets OUI

The following information was supplied by the Braintree Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Braintree police found a 49-year-old Weymouth man slumped over the wheel of his car Thursday morning, and charged him with operating under the influence after smelling alcohol on his breath.

Robert DiSalvio was arrested after a motorist reported that he had been stopped at a traffic light on John Mahar Highway near Plain Street for 10 minutes, Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.

"When officers approached, they found him asleep behind the wheel with the transmission in drive," Jenkins said. "After securing the vehicle, officers woke DiSalvio up and made observations of possible intoxication, including a strong odor of alcohol on his breath."
