Fall River Woman Busted Again at South Shore Plaza

The following information was supplied by the Braintree Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 22-year-old woman from Fall River was arrested after allegedly stealing more than $1,000 worth of clothing from stores at the South Shore Plaza.

Sarah N. Medeiros, who was previously charged with stealing UGG boots and cologne and perfume at the Plaza two years ago, was seen by a loss prevention officer Thursday putting items into a bag, bringing them out to a vehicle and returning for more merchandise.

"Responding officers approached Medeiros at her vehicle and observed her dump her shopping bag on the ground and kick it under her vehicle," Police Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement. "The bag was recovered and found to contain various articles of clothing."

More clothing was found in the back seat of the car, making for a total of $1,200 in merchandise from Zumiez, Express and Pink. Many of the items were damaged when Medeiros removed security sensors, Jenkins said.

Police also found heroin on Medeiros.

She was charged with receiving stolen property over $250, receiving stolen property under $250, shoplifting, destruction of property, possession of heroin and trespassing after officers learned that she had been trespassed from the mall after being arrested twice in one week during October 2011.
