Everett Man Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Two Cameras from Apple

Store employees suspect thief had possibly stolen from the Apple store before.

An Everett man is facing larceny charges after police say he stole two cameras from the Apple Store at South Shore Plaza. 

George P. Crotty, 40, of Everett was arrested on May 13, after the store manager contacted police and said that a shoplifter had just stolen two cameras valued at $499 each.  

Police said Crotty left the plaza in a blue Mercedes Benz, which they found and stopped moments later on the on-ramp to Route 93.

Apple store managers said Crotty is suspected of allegedly stealing from the store on several other occasions, said police. 

He was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without a license, and larceny of property over $250. Police searched his car and recovered the stolen merchandise.
