Duxbury Woman Busted for Shoplifting, Heroin After Trespassing at Plaza

The following information was supplied by the Braintree Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

An illegal trip to the South Shore Plaza ended poorly for a young woman from Duxbury when a Braintree police officer pulled her over on the way out and found alleged stolen goods and heroin.

Lydia A. Donnelly, 23, was arrested on Monday evening, March 5 and charged with three counts of receiving stolen property under $250, trespassing and possession of heroin, Deputy Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.

That evening, officer Matthew Heslam saw Donnelly parked outside Sears and recognized her from another arrest. When she left, Heslam pulled her over as she headed toward Common Street and arrested her based on the trespass. He then found drug paraphernalia and damaged merchandise believed to be stolen from J. Crew, Victoria’s Secret and Express and worth more than $450, Jenkins said.
