Dave & Buster's Staff Helps Police Track Down Alleged Credit Card Thief

The following information was supplied by the Braintree Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Braintree police arrested a 35-year-old Brockton man at Dave & Buster's after he allegedly stole a woman's credit card at the restaurant and used it at the same location.

The victim told police that she left her purse unattended while with her family at the restaurant and arcade at the South Shore Plaza. She located her missing wallet but a Visa card was missing, Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.

When the woman called her bank, she discovered the card had recently been used at Dave & Buster's. Management there looked through video footage and transaction receipts and identified Julio C. German, who was arrested on Sunday, Feb. 17.

"A staff member located a man in the restaurant who resembled the person in the video and Officer Blake Holt approached and questioned him," Jenkins said. "The woman’s credit card was located on the seat where German was sitting."

German was charged with larceny from a person, larceny under $250 and larceny of a credit card.
