An observant employee at the Verizon facility in Braintree interrupted two Brockton men who allegedly stole thousands of dollars worth of copper wiring Tuesday morning.
The employee spotted the men inside a fenced compound where Verizon stores surplus copper on Lundquist Drive and flagged down a police officer, Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.
Officer Ronald Solimini pulled over a gray van that the Verizon worker pointed out and discovered numerous rolls of copper valued at approximately $3,000, Jenkins said. A company supervisor confirmed it was Verizon property.
Marinelson S. Sequeiro, 21, and Adilson C. Moreno, 32, both of Brockton, were charged with larceny over $250 and trespassing.
