A 34-year-old FBI Agent who graduated from Braintree High School died last week of unknown causes while attending a law enforcement conference in Florida.
Jarrod Michael Petrelli, a decorated special agent assigned to the gang unit in St. Louis, will be buried with military honors at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree, according to WCVB. He leaves behind a wife and three daughters.
Petrelli was born in Weymouth and graduated from BHS in 1996, according to an obituary on Legacy.com. He earned a bachelor's degree from Westfield State College and a master's from Western New England College, both in criminal justice.
After joining the FBI in 2008, Petrelli earned a Distinguished Service Award from the U.S. Attorney this October for helping dismantle a heroin trafficking ring in St. Louis, according to his obituary.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Clare's Church in Braintree on Wednesday. Visiting hours are at McDonald Funeral Home at 809 Main St. in Weymouth on Tuesday, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
