Car Slammed into Braintree Living Room on Christmas Eve

The following information was supplied by the Braintree Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Braintree police are investigating a hit and run accident that left a Braintree Village apartment badly damaged on Christmas Eve.

No one was hurt in the accident, which happened just before 9 p.m. on Dec. 24 at a McCusker Drive apartment that was unoccupied at the time, Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.

The driver, described by a witness as a blonde-haired woman, crashed a dark-colored vehicle through a glass slider and into the living room. There was "extensive damage" to the interior of the apartment, Jenkins said.

"The witness stated that the vehicle then backed out of the living room and then drove into the living room a second time before backing out and driving off in the direction of Union Street," Jenkins said. "An area search for the vehicle was unsuccessful.

"The witness provided police with the registration number of the vehicle and the investigation is on going."
