Braintree Police Arrest Malden Man on Assault Charge

The following is an excerpt from the Braintree Police Department's log: 


Tuesday, Feb. 18

  • At 7:31 a.m., police responded to an alarm on Pearl Street.
  • At 9:05 a.m., police responded to an accident on South Street.
  • At 10:46 a.m., police responded to an animal complaint on Liberty Street.
  • At 11:29 a.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious activity on Grossman Drive.
  • At 12:29 p.m., police responded to an alarm on Robbie Road.
  • At 1:40 p.m., police responded to motor vehicle accidents on Granite and Common streets.
  • At 3:10 p.m., police responded to a reported larceny on Grove Street.
  • At 3:16 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Atlas Road.
  • At 4:00 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident on Granite street. Stephan G. Gauthier, 26, of 81 Dell Ave., Melrose, was arrested on charges of shoplifting merchandise by concealment and receiving stolen property valued below $250.
  • At 4:11 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Grossman Drive.
  • At 4:43 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident on Granite Street. Benjamin King, 27, of 346 Riverside Ave., Medford, was arrested on charges of larceny over $250, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and illegally possessing a class A substance.
  • At 6:00 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident on Granite Street.
  • At 8:34 p.m., police responded to a reported restraining order violation on Union Street. Nigel L. Aaberg, 30, of 2 Hancock St., Braintree, was arrested on a charge of violating an abuse prevention order.
  • At 9:09 p.m., police responded to a medical emergency on Union Street.
  • At 11:22 p.m., police responded to a reported assault on Grossman Drive. Wen Liu, 48, of 22 Everett St., Malden, was arrested on a charge of assault and battery. Jun Qian, 48, of 22 Everett St., Malden, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, obstructing justice and two counts of resisting arrest.
  • At 11:29 p.m., police responded to an alarm on Wood Road.
  • At 11:30 p.m., police responded to an alarm on Granite Street.

Wednesday, Feb. 19:

  • At 1:52 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Middle Street.
