Braintree Officers Commended for Drug Bust at South Shore Plaza

Chief Russell Jenkins granted commendations to two Braintree police officers for their actions earlier this month.

Braintree police officers Matthew Heslam and William Donnellan earned commendations for their work earlier this month identifying a drug transaction and arresting two men for distribution of marijuana.

Police Chief Russell Jenkins awarded the officers time owed based on their arrest of the two men at the South Shore Plaza. They uncovered three and a half pounds of marijuana and $8,000 in cash after an investigation that began with the officers observing a "meaningless ride" between the men.

"Officers Heslam and Donnellan have made several similar arrests at the South Shore Plaza and I commend them for their keen observations, attention to detail, persistence and work ethic," Jenkins wrote in a personnel order.
