Braintree Man Found Innocent of OUI After May Arrest
A roundup of Braintree cases going through Quincy District Court. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction unless otherwise stated.
Andrew M. Richards, 26, of 70 Lisle St., Braintree, was found not guilty at a jury trial of second-offense operating under the influence of alcohol and negligent driving in Quincy District Court.
The jury found Richards reponsible for speeding, and the court placed the case on file. Richards was found not responsible for a marked lanes violation.
The charges stemmed from a May 6 incident at 1:27 a.m. on Broad Street in Weymouth when police spotted a gray Toyota Avelon traveling over the 30 mph speed limit and stopped the vehicle. Police administered field sobriety tests and arrested Richards on suspicion of driving impaired.
