Another Braintree home was broken into earlier this week by way of a pushed-in air conditioning unit.
A Birch Street homeowner told police that on Monday, Oct. 1, someone pushed in the AC between 11:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. to gain entry, Deputy Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.
Jewelry was stolen and the perpetrator or perpetrators left the same way.
“Several homes have been entered after the air conditioner unit was pushed in over the past few weeks in Braintree and in surrounding communities,” Jenkins said. “Our detectives are working with local detectives in an effort to track down whoever is responsible.”
Police also investigated a home break-in on Monday on Franklin Street that appeared unrelated, Jenkins said.
A security camera saw someone dressed in dark clothing inside the home after a rear window was broken and an alarm went off. The person, who appeared to be carrying a guitar backpack, did not make it into the home, Jenkins said.
