$2 Million Bail for Braintree Man Shot by Boston Police

The 21-year-old Braintree man who Boston police say fired at them in South Boston earlier this week has been held in lieu of $2 million bail.

Paul Eric Louis-Jeune was arraigned at Boston Medical Center Thursday following the incident Tuesday in which Boston police shot him in the chest, according to UniversalHUB.

Louis-Jeune allegedly opened fire on officers at the Mary Ellen McCormack housing development Tuesday afternoon after they approached him as part of a drug investigation, according to the Boston Globe.

Louis-Jeune was charged with armed assault with intent to murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawfully carrying a loaded firearm, unlawfully discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance, and possession with intent to distribute a Class E substance, according to UniversalHUB.

He is expected to survive his injuries.
