Christmas House Tour and Boutique Coming Again to Braintree

The boutique will be held at Braintree Town Hall.

The popular Christmas House Tour and Boutique, presented annually for 38 holiday seasons by The Gardeners’ Guild of Braintree, will be held on Sunday, Dec. 8 from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Tickets will be $16 in advance or $20 on the 8th. One dollar of every ticket will benefit the Braintree Historical Society, working in association with the
Guild this year.

Three houses will be featured on the tour and are centrally located across from Braintree Town Hall on Washington Street. The Historical Society will allow The Gardeners’ Guild to showcase The Asa French House and include in this tour the Sylvanus Thayer House and the Gilbert Bean Museum.

Guild members will work their deluxe magic in decorating the French House and will provide more minimalist décor, appropriate to the historical period, to the Thayer House and Bean Museum. A potted, living tree will be decorated by Guild members, displayed in the Bean Barn, and raffled off to a lucky winner.

The boutique will be held at Braintree Town Hall from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and is
open to the public for a $2.00 entry fee. Tour ticket holders have free admission.
As always, Guild members will offer decorated fresh green wreaths, swags and stunning centerpieces. 40 vendors will be displaying and selling their handcrafted wares, which will include an exciting and upscale variety of clothing, jewelry, home décor items, giftware, spa items, books, gift baskets, photography, ornaments and holiday foods.

Complimentary refreshments will be served. Entertainment is scheduled throughout the day at Town Hall. The BHS String Orchestra will perform from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.; The Archbishop Williams Chorus from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.; and the Dance Studio of Braintree will close the afternoon from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

This tour/boutique is the Guild’s largest fundraiser of the year. All funds benefit
the Town of Braintree and are allocated to a number of programs including BHS
scholarships, environmental books donations to all public schools, Pond Meadow Park programs, adopt-an-island and various site beautification projects within Braintree.

Flyers are posted in local areas, and tickets may be obtained from the Clerk’s Office at Braintree Town Hall, Braintree Cooperative Bank, Braintree Gardens Florist, The Potting Bench, Caruso Jewelers, Kim’s Nail Salon, the Braintree Senior Center on Cleveland Ave. or from members.
