Sustainable Braintree Earth Celebration at Sept. 8 Farmers Market

Experience an earth friendly event like the Sustainable Braintree Earth Celebration being held this Saturday, Sept. 8th from 9 to 1, rain or shine, in conjunction with the Braintree Farmers Market.  The events tent, sponsored by BELD, will be up with tables and chairs purchased in part with a donation from Wamps Pizzeria.  Music provided by the very talented Tiffany Rozenas & Family will enliven the market with their Celtic Fiddle music.   There's still a few limited Braintree Farmers Market posters available for only $5.  Lower your carbon footprint by walking to the market this Saturday.

Project Have Hope is debuting the Hope Cures Collection of cancer awareness bracelets made from their iconic recycled paper beads.  One dollar from each Hope Cures bracelet purchased is donated to the Ugandan Child Cancer Foundation to help support young patients at the Uganda Cancer Institute.

Community Tent hosts WIC
Quincy WIC nutrition program provides FREE services to families who qualify under the income guidelines.  WIC stands for Women, Infants and Children.  The WIC Community Coordinator will be at this week's market to educate families about the program and how to enroll.  Find out about new foods that have been added to the program.

Community Garden Table will have info about the garden, composting, and sign-ups for the coming year.  Produce from the garden will be displayed.

The SB Recycling Task Force will host exciting games and crafts for children.  The Color Loft, a children's art studio, located at 381 Washington Street, will be joining us with craft ideas using recyclable materials.  Adults are welcome to stop by the recycling info table for a refresher on Single Stream Recycling and pick up info on this year's Make a Difference Day.

The Bottled Water Tasting Challenge returns to the market for the second time with the help of Braintree Rotary and All Souls Church.  Accept the challenge and see if you can taste the difference between three popular brands of bottled water and Braintree tap water.
