'Run for Charlotte' in Memory of 5-Year-Old Braintree Girl

Charlotte Kelly lost her battle with neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer, in 2011.

A benefit race will be held April 27 in memory of Charlotte Kelly, a 5-year-old Braintree girl who lost her battle with neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer, in 2011.

The annual Run For Charlotte will be held on a Sunday. It starts at Granite Grill. The race is being organized by Prayers for Charlotte, which funds neuroblastoma research and assists families with a loved one fighting the disease.

Since 2011, the group has sponsored $75,000 in research grants and allocated almost $100,000 to families.

"It’s truly amazing to see the community come together to support Charlotte’s mission," said organizer said Laura Graziano. "We’re a 100% volunteer organization and depend on the goodwill of our supporters to ensure the Run for Charlotte’s success year after year. What we have been able to accomplish with the help of our community has been incredible."

Registration is $30 for the 5K run. Find more information here.
