also funny that 2 of the counselors share the same last name as the esteemed state rep..

Tyler, laughed at first comment, but no reason to fault nieces or nephews, or anyone for that matter, for being counselors at a special needs camp. Good for them.

Mack --I agree, I absolutely applaud anyone who volunteers to work with special needs kids.. my point was they likely got the positions because of who they're related to.

I'm disgusted anyone would leave any type of defamatory ,abusive or offensive comment towards this photo . As the director of this program that has been doing it for 9 years u can be the first to say that all of the Cusack family (cousins, siblings, aunts ,uncles ect) have been so generous and involved volunteerly without any benefit to themselves or their status in any way. Thank you Nicole Crockan

Well, my comment was going in a totally opposite direction. My initial thought was wow!! How cool for these kids that because of a family connection THEY can maybe get a little more special treatment on this cool trip! Isn't who this article/photo was about? The students in this program?? Looks like they had a blast!
Nicole Crockan July 25, 2012 at 07:40 PM
Thank you Amy ! They did have a blast! We have done it for years now and they always have a great time.

hey "Tyler", just in case your keeping score, my daughter, who attends this camp, is also has "connections". She is the cousin of the director, Ms. Crockan, as well as sister to School Committee member, Joseph Zarrella, who also works at the State House and also had the pleasure of seeing the kids that day. Many of these kids work at the State House as part of their education at BHS' Project Prove. I fill out the same camp forms and pay IN FULL for her to attend and applaud all these counselors for the work they do. Far too often it's the relatives of those with special needs who wind up volunteering their time with these kids, as is the case with the Cusack family as well as my own. How many hours have you volunteered for Special Olympics Tyler? Nuff said.

thank you for the information. I apologize for my comments. sincerely--TS

People who make comments on here SHOULD know what they are talking about before making a post; then they wouldn't have to apologize. Glad he was man enough to do so though.......Nanakate
