Braintree Scout Re-Builds Bridge for Eagle Project

Pond Meadow Park is in Braintree and Weymouth.

Josh Van Alfen, a 13-year-old Braintree scout, completed re-building a bridge at Pond Meadow Park this past weekend for his Eagle Scout project.

He follows in the footsteps of his brother Nicolas Van Alfen, who helped construct a new pier at the park for his Eagle Scout project earlier this year. Josh belongs to Troop 110, chartered out of the LDS Church in Hingham and comprised of kids all over the South Shore.

Scoutmaster Vernon Harrison Sr. and his sons helped on the project, along with the following supporters, sent from Josh's mom Karen Van Alfen:

Sam Mercer-his dad Eric
