Braintree Family Whose House Burned Receives More Support

The Fords of Braintree lost their home to a fire in November.

Last November, shortly before Thanksgiving, an early morning fire severely damaged the Ford's home on Pearl Street in Braintree.

In the days and weeks that followed, community support poured in, by the thousands of dollars.

Funds were set up at local businesses, and to date a fundraising webpage at Giveforward.com has collected more than $31,000 from 338 donations, including $500 and $600 pledges from Braintree Youth Soccer supporters this past weekend.

And just recently, Braintree Brewhouse owner Alex Kesaris added another $1,000, presenting to Peg and John Ford a second check from a raffle Kesaris held along with Anthony Holmes, owner of Holmes Auto Detailing in Hanover.

The raffle generated $2,000 initially, presented to the Fords in December, and additional funds meant a second check for the longtime Braintree family.
