We are hosting a fundraising event for Jake on Saturday, March 29 at the Braintree Sons of Italy Lodge. Appetizers, a DJ, and a cash bar will be
there to help make the evening festive!
Jake Parker is
a 9 year old Braintree boy diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy – a
genetic, degenerative muscle disease. In December 2013, walking finally became too difficult for him and he got his first power wheelchair, which he uses full-time. His parents must now renovate
the bathroom in their home to accommodate Jake’s wheelchair, and also purchase
an accessible van to transport him.
These two goals alone will likely exceed $75,000, in addition to the
ongoing medical expenses associated with his condition. Jake’s
Journey was established to help raise money to offset expenses like these that the Parker family faces now, and in the next few years.
