Choral Art Society of the South Shore Spring Concert "Broadway Meets Opera: Hit Tunes from The Met to The Great White Way!"

The Choral Art Society of the

South Shore, now in its 55th season, will present its Spring concert,

“Broadway Meets Opera: Hit Tunes from the Great White Way to the Met!”

On the program are songs, arias,

duets, and choruses from Broadway hits and Operas such as Wicked, Promises, Promises, Oklahoma!, Anything Goes, The Pirates of

Penzance, La Traviata, Carmen,
and more.

They range from sublime to ridiculous, from silly to sentimental.  You will be entertained!  Danica A. Buckley is the Artistic Director

and Conductor.  Sarah Haera Tocco is the

accompanist. Joining us will be a string quartet, bass, and percussion.

The guest soloists are all young

professional opera singers with careers in Boston and beyond.  Amal Al Sharif, soprano, Oriana Dunlop, mezzo

soprano, Adrian Jones, tenor, and Colin Levin, baritone, will amuse, delight,

and impress with songs and arias from Sigmund Romberg to Cole Porter, to

Bizet.  Several chorus members will also

present solos and duets from musicals and operettas.  Robin Flint and Geof Smith of Hull, Barbara

Baumgarten of Cohasset, Paul Frazer of Kingston, and Nicole DeGennaro of

Weymouth, as well as several others representing all the towns on the South

Shore will offer their talents.

Proceeds from each concert help fund our

scholarship, awarded each year to a high school senior from the South Shore who

is going to college to major in music.

In other community service, we also provide outreach singing to nursing

homes and hospitals.

 Tickets are $20 for general

admission and $15 for seniors and students. Tickets may be purchased on our

website, from chorus members, or at Buttonwood Books in Cohasset, Front Street

Bookshop in Scituate, The Sunshine Pet Parlor in Hull, or at the door.
