9th Annual Brain Aneurysm Foundation Golf Tournament, Cohasset, MA

Teeing off at 12:00 noon on Monday, June 23rd, golfers will be winding through The Cohasset Golf Club in Cohasset, MA for the Brain Aneurysm Foundation’s 9th Annual Charity Golf Tournament. In 2005, this event was established by the foundation’s board of directors to drive efforts to become the world’s leading source of private funding of brain aneurysm research.  More than 100 golfers are expected to participate this year and the tournament aims to raise $25,000, bringing total funds raised by the event through the years to a quarter of a million dollars.

The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is celebrating its 20th Anniversary as the nation’s premier non-profit organization solely dedicated to providing critical awareness, education, support and research funding to reduce the incidence of brain aneurysm ruptures. The foundation continues to expand its presence throughout the United States and Canada providing support and educational materials to the medical community, the newly diagnosed, survivors, family members, friends and the general public regarding the facts, treatment options, and recovery process for brain aneurysms. The Brain Aneurysm Foundation has funded close to $1,000,000 in grants, funding basic scientific research directed at early detection, improved treatment modalities, and technological advances that will ultimately improve outcomes for patients with brain aneurysms.

“For nine years, this tournament has brought together a community of people to show support for our efforts or to honor their loved ones who have passed away from a brain aneurysm,” said Christine Buckley, Executive Director of the Brain Aneurysm Foundation.  “Every year we look forward to this friendly competition of 18 holes. We have had an epic start to our 20th anniversary year and look to carry this momentum through the coming months”.
