Shopping Guide: Forever 21 & Love Culture

Have you ever stepped into stores like Love Culture or Forever 21 at the South Shore Plaza and felt slightly overwhelmed? You're not alone, the large size of these stores, the awesome prices, and on-point trends are dizzying! I'm here to help you with some fool-proof tips for making the most out of your visit  so you leave with some great pieces and not neon leopard leggings (what was I thinking?)

Have a goal in mind. Do you need an outfit for an occasion? New pencil skirts for the office? Whatever it is, it helps to have an end goal in mind to stop you from shopping willy nilly. If it doesn't contribute to your goal, you don't need it. Forever 21 is sorted by little shops, you'll notice sections of the store have a distinct preppy vibe to them, or particularly tropical look and feel. Likewise all the slightly more work appropriate items will be grouped together. No need to head into that cowboy themed shop if you're shopping for shorts and tees.

Don't be sucked in by the price. Seriously, $12 for that adorable printed skirt? They have some knock out deals at Love Culture, and sometimes they can cause us to get overly excited about prices. They're so inexpensive you can't afford for it not to be in your wardrobe. If it's something you really think you will wear and love, by all means, get it, but if it's something you'll only wear once or twice why should the price make any difference?

Check out those fabrics. Nothing lasts forever. To get the most our of your Love Culture and Forever 21 purchases check the tags and know what fabrics you're buying and how to care for them. If you really love a particular item, it's always best to hand wash it as the washer and dryer can cause pilling and fading that can be avoided.

Go with a friend. Maybe if I had enlisted my best fiend to go shopping with me I would not have ended up with those neon leopard leggings. Take a friend, try it on, and get a second opinion. There are no returns at Love Culture or Forever 21, only exchanges so make sure you love it!

I have a lot of pieces from Forever 21 that have held up particularly well over the years for such a low price. It's one of my favorite retailers to find trendy merchandise without spending a ton of cash. Their pencil skirts (priced $8-12) are one of my favorite buys. I buy new colors every season! Now that you've got my tips, head over to Forever 21 on level 1 and Love Culture on level 2 today to see what goodies await you!
