Rough Weather Expected Tonight

Wind gusts could reach 55 miles per hour.

A High Wind Watch issued Wednesday morning by the National Weather Service extends into eastern Norfolk County and Braintree.

The warning predicts 30 to 40 mph winds with gusts up to 55 mph from Wednesday evening into Thursday afternoon. It goes on to say:

"IMPACTS...WINDS OF THIS MAGNITUDE COULD DOWN TREES AND TREE LIMBS...POWER LINES AND HOLIDAY DECORATIONS. NUMEROUS POWER OUTAGES AND MINOR PROPERTY DAMAGE IS POSSIBLE. DRIVING HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES WILL BE DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY ON ELEVATED ROADWAYS."

Braintree will also likely see a mix of rain and snow tonight, becoming all rain after 1 a.m., according to the NWS. A similar mix is expected late on Thursday.
