UPDATE: Braintree Police Report Town-Wide Power Outage

UPDATE 8:15 a.m. Saturday: BELD reported last night that it brought crews in because of the severe weather. Just a few minutes ago they said that crews are back out and working on the outages.

Earlier this morning, the Braintree police said on Twitter, "Most all roads still impassable. Driving ban still in effect. Many businesses probably won't be open. Stay inside!"

The Braintree Police Department, in a message posted on its Twitter account, reported shortly after 10:15 p.m. that there is a town-wide power outage.

The department urges residents not to call 911.

"We're being inundated with calls. BELD is aware," the BPD tweets.

The Braintree Electric Light Department reports on Twitter, "We are experiencing widespread outages throughout town. We are working to restore service now."
