BELD Restores Power to 1,000 Braintree Customers Affected By Sandy

Keep tuned to Braintree Patch for more Hurricane Sandy updates.

Some 1,000 customers of the Braintree Electric Light Department lost power throughout the day on Monday, but all outages were restored by 10 p.m. last night.

During the peak of Hurricane Sandy, 350 BELD customers lost power at the same time, GM William Bottiggi said in an email on Tuesday morning. Workers began at 5 a.m. Monday repairing affected power lines.

"We didn’t have any issues with our Broadband service," Bottiggi said. "Today we dispatched some of our linemen to Middleboro and Reading to provide mutual aide to those Towns at their request."
