5 Things: Post-Election Day, Town Council

A run-down of events and other useful information for your life in Braintree on Nov. 7, 2012.

Colorado became the first state to let women vote with the passage of a referendum on this day in 1893. Then in 1916 on this day, Republican Jeannette Rankin of Montana became the first woman elected to Congress. In 1944, FDR won his 4th term, defeating Thomas Dewey in the presidential contest.

1. The Town Council meets at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall this evening. The agenda includes a re-zoning proposal for a potential CVS in North Braintree, along with a few citizen recognitions and info on the BHS Thanksgiving Day Rally.
