5 Things: Election Day, No School in Braintree and Teen Movie at Library

A run-down of events and other useful information for your life in Braintree on Nov. 6, 2012.

During the first U.S. presidential election in 1788-89, in which George Washington ran virtually unopposed, less than 2 percent of the population voted.

3. The Special Education Parent Advisory Council meets at 6 p.m. in Conference Room B at Thayer Public Library.

4. Thayer Library is showing a movie today for teens because there is no school. From 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Logan Auditorium, check out Dark Shadows, featuring Johnny Depp. For ages 13-18, no registration required.
