5 Things: Boxing Day, Zumba for Teens and Kids, Trash Delay

A run-down of events and other useful information for your life in Braintree on Dec. 26, 2012.

Today is Boxing Day in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and some other nations. It is a banking holiday and typically works as the second, secular day of Christmas in Europe. In some countries, like Britain and New Zealand, it is a giant shopping day like Black Friday here in the U.S.

1. Winter break continues through Jan. 1 for Braintree Public Schools students.

2. Remember, because of Christmas, all trash and recycling collection in Braintree will be delayed one day this week.

4. Also, remember that Thayer Library has a Teen Winter Reading Program available – great for time off during winter break.
