It feels like just yesterday that we were all giddy about a $450 million Powerball jackpot.
A little more than a month later, there's again a top lottery prize up for grabs. Wednesday night's Powerball jackpot is estimated at $400 million, making it the fifth-largest lottery jackpot in United States history. All four of the other, higher jackpots have come in the past two years.
If nobody wins on Wednesday night, it is likely that Saturday night's drawing could approach a record amount. May's $590 million jackpot ballooned from $363 million in the drawing three days earlier.
A winner on Wednesday night would have the option of choosing annual payments or a lump sum payout of $223.6 million before taxes.
Powerball tickets are $2 and the game is played in Massachusetts and 42 other states, including Florida, Texas, California and New York.
In Braintree, you can get a ticket at 54 different locations.
Those locations include the Richdale on Granite Street, Pearl Wine & Spirits and Elm Street Mobil. There's a complete list of all lottery dealers in Braintree on the Massachusetts Lottery website.
